About Me

“Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work” — Aristotle

My journey in the world of hair design is deeply rooted in my upbringing. Growing up, my father was a talented Engineer at Mattel Toys and a Barbie designer. It's no surprise that I found my calling in the hair industry. I was inspired by his meticulous ways and the countless free Barbie dolls that allowed me to practice my skills. My mother's influence also played a significant role, as she is a singer and performer. You may even catch me humming along to songs during our service – it's a habit I can't help but embrace!

Before venturing into the world of hair, I spent 10 years as a portrait photographer and a stay-at-home mom. However, my natural passion for hair design eventually led me to where I am today.

When I was 16 years old, I walked into a Supercuts with money earned from my first job at Subway Sandwiches. I had a specific vision in mind, requesting a trim and some "whispy bangs" to achieve that iconic 90's alt-cute look. Unfortunately, the stylist's interpretation left me with bangs that resembled Winona Ryder's from Beetlejuice. It was a hair disaster that made me swear off hairdressers for the next 25 years! From then on, I became proficient at cutting my own hair which led to haircuts for friends and family. They often commented that it was the best haircut they'd ever had, reaffirming the challenge of finding a skilled stylist.

After being self-taught for decades, I made the decision to become a licensed professional hairdresser. I joined the #1 salon in San Diego County, Headlines the Salon in Encinitas, CA. I had the privilege of learning from the legendary Gayle Fulbright and Summer Labayen, experts in balayage and lived-in blondes who taught me valuable techniques while prioritizing the health of our clients' hair. Once gaining my own chair, I quickly became the go-to hairstylist for complicated services to which I am humbly proud of!

I specialize in balayage, lived-in blonding, precise dry cutting, curly haircuts, shag styles, bangs, and the creation of unique hairstyles. My 27-year experience with long layers and face framing serves as my unique expertise.

Superseding my guests expectations is fundamental within each service, and I'm confident that you will feel your absolute best when you leave my studio. My approach to service is a delightful blend of fun and professionalism, as I genuinely cherish every aspect of what I do.  See you soon!
